About

The Polytechnic Anime Society (PAS) is a non-profit student organization based within the Polytechnic University student community. The society resides in the basement office of Roger`s Hall in room RH010 on 6 Metrotech Center in Downtown Brooklyn. Throughout our long history in the university, we work in cooperation with the Student Council and other Polytechnic clubs to improve residential campus life. Our key mission is to provide awareness and education about the growing Japanese Anime subculture to the Polytechnic community.

Japanese Anime has grown to become a multi-million dollar industry that is looking for new entrepreneurs each day. This international industry has grown very dominant in mainstream America and is the symbol of a vast new market emerging in the new millennium. The industry demands technical and business leaders alike; qualities that are common among Polytechnic students. By understanding and sharing our knowledge with the student community, PAS will help increase the quality of the Polytechnic Graduate.

PAS is managed by a group of ambitious students who serve as officers of the organization. These students come from various academic and professional fields that include but not limited to: Mechanical Engineering, Business Technology Management, Computer Science, Technical Communication, and Electrical Engineering. By combining their talents PAS officers and active club members organize screenings, workshops, meetings, and a variety of events that are open to club members and non-club members alike. The society is also in contact with sister organizations in other universities as well as related anime industry leaders such as ADV Films and Genon. Together, PAS continues to be the focal point of higher education and Japanese Anime.
